Our origin
From a Single Tow Truck to Teaching Thousands
Haulgate Academy was founded by Thomas Agah, a Rutgers University alumnus with over a decade of hands-on experience in the trucking industry.
Thomas started his trucking journey in 2014 with a single tow truck. He later moved into a three-car hauler, grew his business to a fleet of five trucks, and eventually transitioned into auto transport brokerage.
Along the way, he helped many owner-operators start and run their own trucking businesses. With experience as both a carrier and a broker, Thomas understands the challenges of the industry firsthand — from finding loads and managing expenses to building systems, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and growing a business.
That's why he created Haulgate Academy. His goal is simple: to share what he's learned, help others avoid costly mistakes, and give aspiring trucking business owners the knowledge and confidence to succeed.
